The much-awaited pan Indian film KD The Devil, directed by Prem of Jogi fame and starring Action Prince Dhruva in the lead, has set a new record with regard to its audio rights.
Yes, the audio rights of the film have been sold to Anand Audio, one of the premier music labels in South India, for a whopping Rs 17.70 crore!
Audio Rights Sold to Anand Audio
While announcing that KD The Devil will hit screens in December, the makers also announced that the audio rights of the film had been officially sold to the popular music label, Anand Audio for Rs 17.70 crore, which is among the highest for a Kannada film in recent times.
KD The Devil is in the limelight for setting another record with regard to its music. Yes, music for the pan-Indian film was recently recorded with a 256-piece orchestra in Europe.
The film unit said the orchestration had been done in Europe. “It is a matter of pride that KD The Devil is the first Indian film to have its music recorded by a huge orchestral live set up replete with Indian percussion instruments,” the makers said.
KD The Devil Is Set In 1970s And 80s
Further, the team has revealed that the period drama is set in Bangalore in the 1970s and 80s and is based on a real-life incident.
The director said they had shot for at least a 150 days for the film, with a huge set erected over an area of two acres.
“One more week’s talkie portion is left. Apart from that, three songs have to be shot. Once these are done, the shooting will be wrapped,” Prem told the media.
The film also stars V Ravichandran, Ramesh Aravind, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty and Reshma Nanaiah among others.
