Develop: an exhibition of 2023 Bachelor-degree photomedia artist graduates at the Museum of Australian Photography opens on 25 July and runs until 25 August.
Three of the images in the exhibition, clockwise from left: Tang 2024 by Phoebe T; ¿Que nace de una calabaza podrida? 2023 by Martina Cavanna, Untitled 2023 from the series Pride by Demi Kromidellis.
The exhibition presents works by a selection of 2023 Bachelor-degree graduates from Melbourne’s tertiary institutions and provides a vital platform for each of the emerging artists to exhibit their work as they develop their practice and move towards the next stage of their career. This year’s exhibitors are:
- Martina Cavanna, RMIT University
- lulu cook, Photography Studies College
- Mary Gavriilidou, Swinburne University
- Serena Holt, Monash University
- Demi Kromidellis, Victorian College of the Arts
- Phoebe T, Deakin University
Their works examine migration and belonging, identity and ongoing change, and passages of time. The stories presented do so across a range of techniques, furthering the exploration and malleability of the medium, and ultimately the evolution of photography.
An official launch event and opportunity to meet the artists will be held between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, 27 July. Click here for details.
