Microsoft’s Windows 11 could soon offer an innovative way of working on the go as reported rumors suggest that the tech giant is developing a “Continue from Phone” feature.
Renowned Windows Insider investigator PhantomOfEarth initially noticed this nifty feature. The insider noted that nothing happened despite pressing the “Continue from Phone.” Other sources attached a phone via Phone Link and poked around the Managed Devices section to identify any hidden processes behind the button, but they were also unsuccessful.
Fortunately, PhantomOfEarth found something in the feature’s code that clarified its purpose. According to the feature description, users can easily resume their work by accessing the same file from OneDrive that they were utilizing on a different device just minutes before their PC locked.
Microsoft may sync their PC and mobile devices via Phone Link. However, it could also leverage OneDrive’s power to track which device made changes and sync everything back to the PC when they return. These sources suggest that the claimed feature is connected to Microsoft constantly turning on OneDrive automatically.

Windows 11’s Rumored Mobility
This functionality is released while speculations about Windows 11 features focus on mobility, including file transfers between mobile devices and Windows 11. According to recent sources, it may soon be quicker and easier because File Explorer may soon be accessible on phones.
In a later update, users could supposedly compel their devices to display in File Explorer thanks to the “Cross-Device Experience Host,” which was disclosed by the same PhantomOfEarth on X.
Microsoft reportedly has a new feature in the works that would allow users to easily transfer files by connecting File Explorer to their mobile devices.
Sources claim that it is still unknown when the new feature will be released and if it will pass muster through the Dev and Beta branches before being added to the final edition.
Windows 11 24H2
Windows 11 is still receiving several new features, some more advantageous than others. Windows 11 24H2, which was recently made available for preview and now includes Wi-Fi 7, HDR Backgrounds, Voice Clarity, and more, is the biggest update for 2024.
Wi-Fi 7 compatibility makes faster and more stable wireless connections possible, while HDR backdrops improve visual clarity. They more accurately display high-dynamic-range visuals, such as a sunny day, on a user’s screen.
Additionally, the update included “voice clarity,” an AI-enhanced version of noise cancellation that enables apps to concentrate on the user’s voice while blocking out background noise. This feature improves communication during conversations and recordings.
Furthermore, Windows now comes with the “superuser do” (sudo) command, primarily for developers. Like Unix-based systems, this command gives users more command authority and circumvents security safeguards.
